SPSP Overview
SPSP Overview
The Shared Parenting Support Program (SPSP)© responds to a crucial need of recently
divorced families: learning to co-parent in the midst of crisis and conflict.
For Parents
Participants are parents and stepparents whose children live in two homes. They meet
for ten 50-minute sessions to:
- Evaluate and identify parenting skills
- Define parenting goals
- Learn structured communication techniques
- Practice new co-parenting skills
SPSP success depends on people like you.
Therapists
Become a certified SPSP Therapist. Learn the specific therapeutic approach that
addresses the needs of parents raising children in two homes. This structured
system facilitates the modulation of anger and conflict while allowing you to use
your own therapy skills. Help your clients channel the emotionality of divorce
into positive communication skills.
Attorneys
Add an important dimension to your advocacy work by referring parents to SPSP.
Help your clients facilitate the healing process through reducing anger, removing
the children from parental conflict, and improving communication skills. This
workshop will give you meaningful insight into the divorce process to help you
work with your clients effectively.
